19th Century Italian Anchovy/Sardine Pot 20cm Tall

Late 19th Century Italian anchovy/sardine pot from Puglia.


This type of pottery is know as ‘robba bianca’ representing the finest and most expensive kind of domestic ‘ceramic rustica’.


Made with a pewter glaze, twice fired. Has been used for many years to preserve food so shows some signs of wear and use.


Circa 1880.
