WHY DO WE USE SOY WAX? Soy wax is a vegetable wax which is derived from soybeans. Once the soybeans are harvested they go through a process of being cleaned, cracked open, and de-hulled. The flakes are then rolled and the oil is extracted from the flakes and then hydrogenated. The remaining flakes are then used for animals feed. By using the process of hydrogenerating the oil, this alters the melting point of the oil, which in exchange makes it solid at room temperature therefore is suitable to be used in candles.
 
Soy wax is made from renewable resources and is environmentally friendly, unlike the likes of paraffin wax which is a by product of petroleum which is non-renewable.
