The Old Kennels
In the 1840s, the 4th Earl Bathurst made a number of alterations and improvements to the Park including the addition of a range of kennels and cottages at this site. Originally built to house hounds and horses up until 1963, the Grade II listed limestone buildings and outbuildings have been used for liveries, as a mechanic’s workshop, offices and residential housing.
In 2023, The Old Kennels starts an exciting new chapter with the opening of Roots + Seeds Café and Restaurant alongside new shops and visitor facilities; this includes a nature-inspired play area, a bike park and a dog wash. With the award-winning micro-brewery Corinium Ales and Cirencester Saddlers located in Kennels’ Yard, there is plenty to explore.

Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden
Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden brings together a sustainable, home-grown and locally sourced dining hub to The Old Kennels in the heart of Cirencester Park, whilst embracing the wider community.
Roots + Seeds café and restaurant together with a children’s area is situated next to attractive listed buildings, once the Bathurst family’s foxhound kennels and stables in a new beautifully designed light and airy space with vaulted ceilings and large windows. Outside, two courtyards provide dining spaces divided by edible flower and herb-filled raised beds, with access to a new and exciting outdoor children’s play area, as well as the kitchen garden.
